February is Kids’ Dental Health Month

We have a goal to promote dental care for young children. A child’s first dental appointment is typically recommended within 6 months of when their first tooth erupts.

For February appointments, we are excited to offer a special promotion to encourage dental care for young children. We believe in the importance of early dental care, and as a family dental practice, we see children as young as one. The term “young children,” in this case, refers to children ages 1-6. Six is typically the age where children begin to get their permanent teeth.

Eligible Appointment Information: A parent/legal guardian must schedule a visit for a child who would be attending their first dental appointment or should not have been seen by our office for at least a year. Additionally, these youth patients should have all their primary teeth (baby teeth), although it's perfectly fine if they have lost a tooth or two. Full giveaway details available at appointment.

What to expect: Children, ages 1-6*, can expect a 30-minute appointment that offers a brief dental exam and a gentle cleaning. We also offer a quick educational demo for our pre-k/kindergarten-age friends to help them transition to brushing confidently on their own. These appointments are great to get an introduction to the dental office and calm any fears about visiting the dentist. All young children visiting in February will also receive a takeaway bag with dental goodies and a toy.

*Is your six-year-old ahead of schedule? Six-year-olds who have mixed dentition (several adult teeth mixed in with their baby teeth) qualify for a typical cleaning with a hygienist. However, if you have a six-year-old who hasn’t yet been to the dentist, who is looking for a new dentist, or who is experiencing any frequent toothaches, we are happy to see them for an exam.
